For the First Time

Hi ! Good morning naman sa inyo. Remember my last post about Thunderbird, di ba  I mentioned that we entered its Casino just to see what it looks like? E sa totoo lang, I have never been into one. Kahit sa Resorts World never pa.

So what we did was, we let the bagets play with the IPAD inside the hotel room. We promised we will be back in thirty minutes. The obedient child that he is (because he has been bribed with the use of the IPAD na want-to-sawa) he just said yes.

So off we went. The casino is located on the second floor. It is open 24 hours a day, so it was 10:00 in the morning that we decided to just take a peek inside and see how it feels.

When we entered the first thing that greeted us were numerous slot machines, na hindi ko maintindihan paano laruin. Actually there are machines like this in most of the amusement parks that we go to, but never did it catch my attention. Di ko kasi talaga maintindihan pano tumaya.

But the curiousity inside us, made us bet. We talked first with one of the crews inside. Patient naman siya sa pag eexplain. Minimum bet is P100, so that is what we bet.

I know now the feeling of those who got addicted to gambling. Di ka talaga titigil kasi nakakagigil. There was this one woman, past her 60's na, I saw her win already P1800, then she re-bet that winnings, hanggang sa nauubos na siya, so she got another 500 from her wallet. She lost all the 500 then she got 1000 naman. My gulay, sa 100 nga nanghihinayang na ko.

Meron dung poker table na walang nag lalaro probably because it is only 10 in the morning.  Meron pang 2nd floor, but we did not peek na, feeling ko hardcore na siguro dun.

So what was the damage? P500 went to thin air just by betting. Sana binili ko na lang ng shake sa restaurant, na refresh pa ko.  Verdict? Never did casinos attracted me. Just out of curiousity kaya ko sya pinasok. But the logic behind why I should waldas our money over it, wala akong maisip.

O syalala na, ayus pako ng pictures para sa next post ko. Oy, bakit walang pictures ng casino dito? Sorry not allowed to take pictures inside e. Mag imagine na lang kayo mga sis. Hehehehe.

Thunderbird Resort Rizal: A weekend to remember

This post has long been overdue, but as the cliche goes, its better late than never. So here goes--

I have been waiting for this long weekend. At last it finally came.  After all the stress and physically and mentally draining months preparing for our Office Annual Meeting and Convention, we finally had the time to unwind and relax. I chose Thunderbird Resort in Rizal coz I have been hearing about this and even saw this featured at Poptalk in Channel 11. Mukang magugustuhan ko siya because of its location at di nga ako nagkamali.

I have actually booked this since June and I was counting the days until its finally the It day.  We were booked for an August 24-25 date.  We left our home at 1:30 and arrived at the resort around 2 pm.  Since we lived in Antipolo, the fastest route would from M.L. Quezon St., We followed this street until we reached Angono. We entered East Ridge Subdivision, Angono gate, took a left turn and there it is.

We came from Cogeo that's why this route is the nearest route for us

The resort is situated near the mountain ranges of Sierra Madre in Binangonan. Just across the resort is the East Ridge Golf course. The peaceful surrounding of the place, helped me relax and forget all the anxieties that have been bugging me. Ang saya lang mag meditate.

I wasn't able to take a picture of the lobby due to my excitement.  Even if the lobby is small it was cozy and inviting. There was a table there with a big jar of juice and glasses. This is the resort's welcoming drinks for their clients in a warm afternoon, I was just not able to get one.

Now off to the room. We booked a deluxe room of about 48 sqm. It was very spacious and makes the room more inviting.

Complimentary coffee and tea

The bathroom was sparkling clean, but I just noticed the bathroom has very faint lighting. It look sad tuloy.

Having Wyeth take our shots at the pavilion

JACUZZI anyone?

Ang ganda right? Sarap bumalik and stay for another 2 nights and 3 days. Pang relax talaga.

Have I told you rin na Resort and Casino ito?  We tried the Casino. We left the bagets in the room playing with the IPAD so that we could take a peek of their casino that will be in a separate post.

Till next post!

My Comfort Place: Taytay Tiangge

Hi muthers! Excited ako to post because I am back to my happy place --- the Taytay tiangge along Manila East road.

Pansin ko wala na ata tiangge sa Kalayaan Park, pero dumami ang mga puesto sa Manila East road. So without further ado, my photo blog on the loots I got from the tiangge:

P100
P130
P100
P100

P80

Here are but few of the loots I got from Taytay 3 weeks ago. Kulang pa to kasi di ko ma upload yung ibang pictures.

I noticed as well na tumaas ng bahagya ang prices niya, but dumami naman ang mga stalls. Probably kasi mag be-ber months na. Anyhow, whenever I am here, dami kong nabibili sa 1,000 ko. Basta pili lang ng maayos na tahi.

O siya mga muthers, try ko i-edit next time tong post na ito to update yung pictures. Punta na sa tiangge, I'm sure dami kayo loots dun. Happy shopping!

What does it take to be a Happy Person?

I saw this post  about happiness in one of blogs that I follow, and I want to share it with you guys:

25 Habits of Happy and Successful People:

1. They don’t hold grudges.

2. They think outside of the box.

3. They go by a routine and make exercise a part of it. It takes practice to develop healthy habits and stick with them. Once you do, your internal foundation will be strong.

4. They have a supportive tribe, thereby not wasting time with negative or toxic people.

5. They don’t care about what other people think. Does a tiger lose sleep over the opinion of sheep?

6. They don’t people please.

7. They see difficult and challenging situations as opportunities for personal growth.

8. They consider handling rejection a skill and are resilient.

9. They make time for themselves. Whether it’s getting eight hours of sleep every night, finding 15 minutes to read the newspaper in peace or an hour to go to the gym, they make it a priority — just like everything else. When you take care of yourself, you have a bigger impact on others.

10. They are spiritual. This doesn't necessarily mean religious. It could mean setting aside time for reflection through yoga or meditation.

11. They practice deep breathing.

12. They know there isn’t such a thing as “having it all,” and they’re happy about that. Wouldn’t the world be a boring place for them otherwise?

13.Fear doesn't hold them back. They're ready to take risks.

14. They know how to say “NO,” and don’t hold back. These people have learned to set boundaries. Plenty of them.

15. They learned a great deal from other people whom they admire. Either they had a great mentor, or they took note of how those they aspired to be like handled various situations.

16. They follow their inner guidance. Not only do they have a vision, but they follow it.

17. They give without expecting anything in return.

18. They aren't pretentious or conceited.

19. Passion is what drives them. They authentically believe in what they're doing.

20. They don't complain.

21. They live by their core values in both their professional and personal lives.

22. They're happy to swim against the tide.

23. They finish what they start.

24. They don't compare themselves to other people.

25. They want you to succeed, too.

I personally think that all these are true habits of a happy and successful person.  Most of these I am able to practice but Nos. 5, 8, 13 I used to have a hard time practicing it specifically no. 5.

I am the type that easily gets upset when people say bad things about me specially when stories are not true.  Its one of my stress factors. My reason is that I can be honest enough with my feelings in front of you and you can never hear me back stab another person without any reason so I expect people to be sincere as well with their feelings.

Someone advised me that I can never please everyone.  There will always be others who will not like me, others will criticize me, others will comment behind my back and I can never do anything about it except learn to deal with it.

It took me awhile to be able to practice this. It took a lot of effort and prayers just to have faith and leave everything to God.  Now I don't care how others see me in their eyes. I don't care what they say about me for at the end of the day, only God knows how pure our intentions are.

Here's something to inspire us and help us attain and maintain happiness in our lives.  Remember these words whenever people starts to suck from us our happiness by their nasty remarks:

So when someone is being nasty to you, offer help. That person may be dealing with something that makes him/her bitter with life. Let it go and be the most understanding christian that you are.

Happy Saturday guys!

The Summer That Was...

Hi guys! Loooong time no hear from me? Been busy with work that I have'nt got the energy anymore to update this blog.

Ang bilis ng panahon, summer is gone and the first storm after summer, named Ester, had been felt already in the Metro. Saan  na napunta ang summer ko guys?

Just a ran down of the major events that happened to me and mi familia:

April 21 - May 2:  as what I told you in my previous post, we enrolled Boyeyet in the toddler class of Milo Swimming clinic Batch 3 at the Marikina Sports Center.  The kid enjoyed it, but I have to conclude that probably swimming is not his sports. Will try taekwondo next summer.

May 10-11: It was our company outing together with our family.  Our destination, Governor's Island, one of the Hundred Islands in Lingayen.  Passing through TPLEX , the trip was like over 4 hours only. Ang bilis no?

May30-June1: A 3day, 2 night stay at Hongkong. We visited Ocean Park, Disneyland, Space Museum and the infamous Citygate Outlet Mall in Tung Chung.

All these I think deserve a separate post for the details.  I have yet to upload the pictures from Wyeth's sports clinic.

Wish me luck so that I could update this blog. Ciao for now!

A Big Win for Manny Pacquiao

 Congratulations Pacquiao!

The results:
Glen Trowbridge   118-110
Michael Pernick    116-112
Craig Metcalf        116-112

This is a unanimous decision by the judges. Bawi bawi lang ba pag may time?  Remember the controversial decision in their 2012 fight? Peklat yun mga mommies. A lot of opinions were raised that time regarding who  the real winner was.

I am not a boxing expert and I am not here to discuss the moves that made him won the battle. I don't even understand how the judges came up with the stats.I am here to express how happy I am that he gets to prove himself this time. I am not really a fan, but hey, the guy is a Filipino. Any Filipino that gives fame to our country, I love, love, love!

But this is definitely a big win for him and another honor for the Philippines. Yun nga lang, his wife requested for him to retire already and make this his last fight. As a wife, I feel for Jinky. She needs more of his presence than the material rewards that he gets from winning.

Again, hurray for you Pacman! Double hurray if you put your family first already this time. God bless!

The Graduation Day!

Finally! Wyeth is now an official graduate of McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2014.  I know, I promised you guys regarding updates for the next four days of their workshop. Well here they are, more on photo blog guys:

Day 2 (Tuesday):
Painting and decorating their aprons
His design :)))
Serving at the counter

Saying hi to the Ates and Kuyas

Their favorite activity: merienda time

Day 3 (Wednesday):  Well , since day 3 is a holiday, it was me and hubby who accompanied him to his workshop.  Uhm, I was not able to take a lot of pictures coz most of the time they were inside the kitchen, kasi a birthday party was being held outside.  When it was time to serve at the counter, hubby decided to buy at Wyeth's counter and took his video, which, unfortunately I can't seem to upload from his itouch.  Funny, Wyeth seemed naiilang sa amin. But when he saw his Papa ordering a happy meal, biglang naging ganado sa buhay ang bata.

According to Wyeth, they practiced their graduation stint inside the kitchen, they also ate their merienda inside which was a 1 pc. chicken meal. And so far, the kid's still enjoying the "job".

Day 4 (Thursday):
With his new found friend

Making his burger which he gets to eat too.
Trying to memorize the song for their graduation day

Day 5 (Graduation Day):
Waiting for the awarding of the certificate
Putting the buttons
Getting ready for their grand performance
Ronald Mcdonald is missing in action. Buti  na lang nanjan ang kanyang violet friend, si Barney, este Grimace pala.

Overall, the workshop was great, seeing Wyeth enjoying the experience with other kids. Though if asked if he is going to repeat the workshop, his answer is a  "no".  Nakakapagod daw mag serve sa counter, he went back to becoming a soldier again when he grows up daw. Owss?

May tanong nga pala siya, ano daw ba si Grimace? Di ko masagot e. Baka alam niyo anong creature si Grimace? Di ko naman pin-roblema ito nung bata ako. Hahaha!

There was only one thing that confused me, their website said that a P500 worth of GC is going to be given on the graduation day and that there will a raffle draw. But according to the yaya, wala daw binigay at walang raffle draw. I let it go na lang, sa dami naman ng nakain ng anak ko at "to the highest level" naman ang pagka enjoy niya, sulit na rin yun.

So there, at least he gets to experience it. So far, so good, nagkakaroon na ng saysay ang summer vacation ni bagets. Next stop: swimming lessons. We enrolled him last week sa Milo swimming clinic sa Marikina Sports Center. I will feature that on one of the succeeding posts. Abangan!

My Favorite Kiddie Crew

With Ate Raizza and my fave kiddie crew

It was through mommypracticality's post that I was able to read the different summer activities that our kids may try this vacation.  I had a lot to choose from, taekwondo, swimming, singing, acting workshop, football, culinary, arts, dancing but the number one activity that caught my attention was Mcdonald's kiddie crew. Why? Because when I was still in college, it was my dream to be  working at Mcdo as one of their crew. Ang babaw no? Gustong gusto ko talaga maging working student para I have my own money to spend and not depend on my allowance lang, but my parents did not allow me to, kasi they can provide for me  daw (which in fairness, totoo naman). Peg ko talaga mag work sa kanila kasi parang ang gagaling nila with time management and ang people skills nila, winner.

My husband, then boyfriend, used to eat at Mcdonald's a lot and notice that every summertime, a lot of kids were working with them. They were so cute in their uniforms, imitating what the older crew is doing, that we agreed that when we will have a kid of our own, we will enroll our kid in their workshop.

Fast forward to present, reading that post reminded me of what I wanted for my kid to experience. Last Monday, after work, Hubby and I went to McDonald's SM Masinag and enrolled Wyeth for the Batch 3 Kiddie Crew Workshop. The Batch 3 schedule will run for 5 days, from April 7 to 11, with the last day as their graduation day.

We paid P595 pesos with the following inclusions, 1 pc. t-shirt, 1 pc. toque hat, 1 pc. apron, 1 pc. red baseball cap, 1 pc. sling bag, button pins, everyday snacks and P500 worth of GC to be given during the graduation day.  So, parang we did not pay P595, dahil sa mga freebies and GC pa lang, sulit na sulit na e.

Yesterday was Wyeth's first day. We were not able to accompany him, so we let his Yaya and Tita accompany him to Mcdonald's for his 2 pm to 4 pm shift.  Nag bilin ako to take a lot of photos for us to see when we get home. Kakatuwa to see Wyeth in uniform and from the look on his face, mukhang nag enjoy ang batang makulit sa 1st day niya.

                                           While waiting for Ate Raizza

                                              Tour of the kitchen

                                           Busy sa pag-aasist kay Ate

With  his co-kiddie crew and Ate and Kuya

                                         Waiting for the customers' orders

...and finally time to eat their spaghetti

I am happy that Wyeth enjoyed the 1st day of this workshop.  At least he is being productive during his vacation with the chance of meeting new friends and not just watching tv throughout the day.

I will try to update you if possible, of what they will be doing for the next 4 days.  Good thing that Wednesday is a holiday, we will get to observe him that day. For those who got interested, their workshop will run until May I think.  Just try to inquire with the branch nearest you, coz they might be among the participating branches for the 2014 McDonald's Kiddie Crew.

The Morning Rush 2014 Grand EB

o
I have always been a fan of chico and delamar, way back 4th year college. I forgot how I came to be a regular follower of RX but I remember that this is one of our common grounds of my husband, then boyfriend. I really am a music lover, just don't ask if the music loves me though. Palipat lipat ako ng station kasi mga fave songs ang hinahanap ko on air.  So I really had no particular  station back then.

When I started working and I was still commuting, I always bring with me a small radio, parang  mp3 player pero radio siya.  So while waiting for the shuttle Van to arrive, mahaba ang pila, I kept myself entertained by listening to RX. Gaganda kasi ng choice of songs nila. Then I got to notice the two DJs na kasi they kept on bickering and teasing one another.

Not a very Merry Monday

I am actually having second thoughts whether to publish this or not coz I don't want this blog to be full of nega vibes.  But I realized that there is a lesson to be learned here at the end of this simple story .

I don’t really get mad easily but when I snap, I really snap. And snapped I did early Monday morning at home.I really don’t want to have a nega Monday, I want a Merry Monday but when I saw my closet and realized that I don’t have any pants to wear yun na mga kapatid….

My mouth was like a machine gun, dere-deretso, walang patid. And I hated myself because that situation called for patience and I did not have the heart to give one.

I know, that was cruel of me. And now I realized that that moment was a test from God, He was testing my patience after all. Sadly, I failed him. Again. The Good news is He always forgives and He always gives a lot of chances.  And that’s what I should do with our help regardless she wrong or not. I am sorry my dear, good thing you weren’t in yet. Hehehe, the people who heard my rants were the yaya and my Mom.

Anyway here’s a short prayer from St. Francis of Assissi to help me get through this Monday. It may have started wrong, but it is never too late to end it right….

“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life. Amen.”

My Little Soldier and His Moving Up Ceremony

Last March 17 was Wyeth's moving up ceremony. I've been bugging this kid to practice their three songs that they will sing and the corresponding actions. Ayun, ayaw niya talaga kasi alam na daw niya.

Kids these days talaga are so full of confidence in themselves to the point na ayaw nila ng paulit-ulit. Ganun nga daw ata sila sabi ng officemate ko. So kung sinabi ng bagets alam na niya, there's nothing to do but trust the kid.

Anyway, I don't know with graduations, but they really make me cry.  Nakaka touch talaga ang moving up ceremony with pre-schoolers coz you see how happy they are. Ini-enjoy lang talaga ng mga bagets ang program  nila, walang pressure, hindi toxic.

Another thing is that they get to wear the costume of what they want to be when they grow up. I wanted sana Engineer para madali bihisan kaso he wants to be a soldier.... yun nga ba? He actually wants is because na aastigan siya sa costume and not because he really wants to be one. And because of that napatakbo ako sa Marikina to buy him the costume. Akalain niyo mga muthers, may soldier costume dun na nung sinukat na niya, para talagang tinahi sa kanya. And take note, P500 lang siya.

Anyway here's my bagets wearing his soldier costume together with his two friends, both wearing a pilot costume. O diba, isang sundalo at isang piloto.

To my Wyeth, my only wish  is that you pursue whatever it is that makes you happy, as long as it is according to God's plan. Your happiness will always be our happiness. You will always have our support, and remember that Papa and I will be here to guide you through.

Anu ang nakasabit sa leeg niya? Surprise, surprise, he made it 2nd....Keep it up anak!

Taytay Tiangge loots

When it comes to clothes, I’m not really maarte  when it comes to brand, puedeng puede ako bumili sa mga tiangge. As long as maayos ang tahi, maganda ang tela at higit sa lahat bagay sa body frame ko, I go buy it.  I buy branded IF AND ONLY IF it is on SALE. And most of it are slacks and jeans.

Pagdating kasi sa pants, it needs to be matibay ang yari at tela. Ayoko nang pag upo ko e , waa..raa..aattt! ang pwetan. Pero minsan nakaka tsamba rin nang maayos sa tiangge.  Like  the ones I bought in Taytay.

That tiangge in Taytay is my comfort place to shop for blouses and tops. It is actually located along Manila East Road, malapit sa New Taytay public Market. It is just beside Mcdonalds. May malaking area dun na puro tiangge.  If you are familiar with Club Manila East, sa entrance ng subdivision located yang tiangge nayan.
According to some tindera of the shops in Greenhills and St. Francis, bukod sa they buy their rtws sa Bangkok, they also source their products here. E hello, ang mura naman talaga e.  Sige eto mga photos with their prices.

 Skinny colored pants: 140 each

Polka dotted shirt: P40 each

Denim colored blouse P130

two-toned shirt P70

sleeveless topsP40

knee-length dressP120

long-sleeves shirt P50

Guys and mura no? Katuwa lang mag shopping sa sobrang mura. Sa P1,000 and dami kong loots!  I have updated post here
