How We became Ginebra Fans

Known for their never say die spirit, Ginebra never fails to impress haters. Let's admit, their haters gonna hate but deep inside, they were amazed how Ginebra fought against all odds just to reach finals, AGAIN, this all-filipino conference 2017.

Have I mentioned that I was a hater too? That was before. I was younger then. I never liked them  because  I witnessed how "dirty" Ginebra plays on the hardcourt.

I grew up rooting for Purefoods during my elementary days up to highschool. That was because I liked Jerry Codinera so much that all sports magazine that has his face on it, I actually bought.

When my husband got employed in Ginebra, I was disappointed. Sana kako sa Purefoods ka na lang or SMB, bakit dun pa? He was a hater too, he was a fan of SMB's Ildelfonso back then. His first year as an employee was also the year that he witnessed Ginebra entering the finals and winning a championship under Coach Uichico in 2008. The players visited their office as a courtesy call, and that's where he found out that the players are very down to earth and nice at game mag pa picture. He was smitten by the NSD attitude of the players. And he observed that the team's NSD spirit has somewhat rubbed off the employees too.
That spirit of fighting is what made him love his company and The TEAM.

Ako naman, we were in Araneta when Coach Uichico led the Baranggays to winning that champioship. At that was my first time to watch PBA live where I can see all the fans cheering GINEBRA! GINEBRA! Euphoric ang feeling cannot be explained. Basta ang alam ko, right there and then Ginebra na ako by heart.

Fast forward to Coach Tim Cone's management, I can say ang laki laki na ng improvement ng mga players specially in their discipline. Wala na akong nakikitang mainitin ang ulo, kasi uupo ka sa bench.

Galing!

Yesterday was Game 7 of Manila Clasico. Whichever team wins, will go up against SMB in the finals. Oh Yes! I believed they can do it. I believed they have the focus to win. I believed that their hunger for championship is still intense. So they won. I never doubted Tim Cone's ability to use his players against any situation.

Now its the finals. I told my husband, di na nakakahiya kahit matalo sa SMB, magaling naman sila talaga, okay na umabot sila sa Finals at least hindi sila kangkong.

And he said, if that's your goal for them, then you never believed in their ability to win this.

Oo nga naman. Napanis ako sa sagot niya. This finals, I will have faith in them again. Just like the way I believed in them last conference. 

Sana kayo rin mga Ka-baranggay! Let's go and support our TEAM again. Kung last conference pinagbigyan daw, this time I am sure, with Tim Cone as their coach, these players will give their heart and soul for the trophy.

UNMOTIVATED!

I don't want to sound ungrateful kasi ang dami dami kong dapat ipagpa salamat sa buhay. Lots of blessings are coming my way, pero waley pa rin.I still feel unmotivated.

I miss my old friends. Kulang lang yata ako sa bonding.

Di ba  when you are not happy anymore, move out of the situation na? Pero nandito pa rin ako. Promise last na ito. Ayoko na!

Tagal ko nang nararamdaman na unappreciated ako pero bakit nandito pa ako?

Ginebra Fan Here!

I will not be ashamed to admit I am a Ginebra Fan. Ngayon pa when I already love how disciplined they have become eversince Coach Tim Cone took over the team two years ago.

I loved how patient now the players are unlike before na "pa-pogian" sila. Ngayon, umiikot na talaga ang bola at hindi sila nag papa galingan.

I have an officemate now, Ginebra fan na daw sya because of Tim Cone. Wherever Tim Cone goes, he changes team din. I used to not understand him before, "bandwagon ka" I told him. But now I understand how he loves Tim Cone and not the team talaga.

Every game of Ginebra I observe CTC. Father material. That's why Pingris felt that he lost  a Father when CTC was transfered to Ginebra. Ang galing nya mag disiplina, pag di nag peperform upo, so walang choice ang player kungdi umayos. No favoritism, even his fave player binabangko niya wag nag wawalwal sa court.

If Ginebra was able to enter the semis, its because of CTC's hardwork and his coaching staff. They were able to bring out the potential of each player. I just hope hindi maubusan ng lakas ang mga players para hanggang grand finals umabot sila.

Sabi nga ni husband, according to CTC's speech, they will not be winning only a championship, they will be winning lots of championships.

If you are a fan like me, our team needs our support, our full support in the semis. Not only when they win but most of all when they lose, that's when they need us most.
